This thorn cat certainly lives up to its Latin name 'lanius' - butcher, butcher. On a rocky outcrop by the sea, I saw something flash by and land in a bush. As I approached, I saw that it was a magpie with a freshly caught prey, in its typical habitat among the thorny branches – they have a habit of impaling their prey on these thorns and saving it for later.
