I couldn't decide whether to go look for beavers in a nature reserve or starlings in a nearby river.
Finally I decided on the beavers and headed out. Those plans changed quickly when I got out of the car and heard a bunch of whooper swans in a lake covered in fog. The sound of the swans got louder and louder as the sun rose until all but one fell asleep as you can see in this picture.
This moment felt almost surreal and I can assure you that I was more than happy with my decision to leave the beavers in favor of the swans.
